About gender. From egalitarianism and gender post-feminism, to the model of equity in the difference

Abstract

THe purpose of this paper is to present the principal models of relationship between sex and gender: the so-called model of the subordination, the egalitarian model, the difference paradigm, and the model of equity in the diference, also called reciprocity, complementarity or responsibility. Te starting point is that, even though the second and the third model have made signifcant contributions in the feld of equity beet, they have nonetheless brought with them some defciencies and reductionisms inherent in their thinking. Te model of equity in the diference, on the contrary, when properly understood, allows for the combination of the principles of equality and diference between man and woman, which places it at a much more enriching standpoint within the human rights debate.
