Metamorphosis of paternity. An intersection of genders among denial, repression and care

Abstract


In recent years, gender studies have demonstrated the central importance of the historical aspects of paternity involving the models of masculine identity and the corresponding pedagogic and normative implications. In this text we want to particularly investigate the confict between the so called “withdrawal” of the father and appearance of new fathers or maternal fathers. We want to investigate why, up to now, in autobiographies and in epistolary collections we frequently fnd cumbersome and authoritative fathers but not empatic and caring fathers.
